With the development of digital technologies, podcasts have become an important tool in teaching Russian as a foreign language, especially in universities in Uzbekistan. This article examines podcasts as an effective educational instrument that contributes to the development of key language skills: listening comprehension, pronunciation, vocabulary expansion, and understanding of cultural context. Unlike traditional learning materials, podcasts provide access to live, natural speech with its intonation, rhythm, and variety of accents, which helps students better adapt to real-life language communication. Special attention is given to the role of podcasts in developing speech and intercultural competence. The advantages of this method include accessibility, flexibility, thematic diversity, and the possibility of integration into self-study. At the same time, the article points out some limitations: difficulty of understanding for beginner students, as well as limited impact on the development of writing skills and grammatical accuracy. The conclusion is that podcasts represent a valuable but auxiliary tool that requires integration with other teaching methods to achieve comprehensive results in learning Russian as a foreign language.
