This scientific article thoroughly analyzes the relevance, necessity, and practical advantages of introducing strategic management principles into the administration system of higher education institutions (HEIs). In today’s globalized environment, intense competition in education, achieving higher positions in international rankings, improving the quality of education based on modern requirements, and expanding scientific and innovative activities have become crucial. Therefore, HEIs are required to develop and implement efficient, strategy-based management approaches. The author, drawing on the theories of renowned strategists such as Mintzberg, Porter, Kaplan, and Norton, has developed strategic models and concepts adapted to the context of national education institutions. The article discusses forms of strategic management, implementation stages, methods for in-depth analysis of internal and external environments, effective collaboration mechanisms with stakeholders, rational and efficient use of resources, ensuring the competitiveness of HEIs, and promoting stable, consistent innovative development. These conceptual approaches and proposals serve to enhance the quality and efficiency of HEIs’ performance and guide them toward sustainable, innovation-driven growth.
