This article discusses the importance of developing speech-thinking activities in foreign language teaching. In modern education systems, foreign language instruction focuses not only on grammar but also on fostering communicative competence among students, which is closely tied to their ability to think and express ideas logically and effectively. Speech-thinking activity involves verbal expression, logical justification, and effective communication. The author emphasizes the role of the teacher in facilitating communication through questions that stimulate students’ thinking (Tollefson, 1994) and highlights the significance of communicative tasks in language learning (Passov, 1993). Interactive methods such as role plays, debates, and problem-solving tasks are integral in enhancing students’ cognitive and communicative abilities. The teacher’s role is crucial, not only in communication but also in providing guidance and fostering independent thought in students. By utilizing methods like problem-based questions and metacognitive approaches, teachers help students improve their speaking skills and develop critical thinking. The article concludes that developing speech-thinking activities is a fundamental aspect of modern foreign language education.
