This article is devoted to the topic “Advantages and disadvantages of using technologies in teaching English”. One of the main requirements of modern English teaching methodology is the equal development of all types of speech activity of learners. As one of the conditions for the effective implementation of this goal, technologies are now widely used in the educational process and serve as an effective tool in teaching English. The main reason for this is that modern technologies help language learners create an interactive, convenient and effective environment for learning the language. In the conditions of the rapid development of information and communication technologies, which are one of the distinctive features of the present time, special attention is paid to a new approach to the educational process, organizing it using its capabilities. The role of the teacher in the classroom is also changing. The teacher is now mainly a facilitator. Teachers who keep up with the times must be ready to implement any part of the lesson using information and communication technologies.
