This article examines the cognitive and methodological potential of comparative-typological analysis in English language teaching. The systemic features of Uzbek and Russian are contrasted with those of English, and the pedagogical applicability of the identified parallels is analysed. The article demonstrates the interrelationships among interference phenomena, lexico-grammatical transfer mechanisms, the formation of metalinguistic awareness, and the development of communicative competence. Drawing on the theoretical legacy of N. Sulaymonova, E. Bialystok, R. Lado, T. Odlin, and C. James, the study argues for the didactic potential of a contrastive approach within Central Asian multilingual contexts. Concrete pedagogical recommendations are proposed in the conclusion.
