The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has significantly transformed the field of English language education. AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, and intelligent tutoring systems offer new opportunities for improving learners' language proficiency, writing skills, and autonomous learning. However, the increasing reliance on these technologies has also raised concerns regarding academic integrity, critical thinking, learner autonomy, and overdependence on machine-generated content. This study investigates the impact of AI tools on English language learning among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. Using a qualitative and quantitative approach, the research examines both the benefits and challenges associated with AI-assisted language learning. The findings reveal that while AI tools enhance learners' motivation, vocabulary acquisition, and writing performance, excessive dependence on such technologies may hinder the development of independent language production skills. The study proposes a balanced pedagogical framework to address these challenges that integrates AI tools into language instruction while maintaining learners' critical thinking and academic writing competencies. The results contribute to the growing body of research on AI-enhanced language education and provide practical recommendations for educators, researchers, and policymakers.
