This article provides a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the stages in the formation of modern media. The study examines the historical evolution of the mass communication system step by step and explains the distinctive features of the eras of traditional media, electronic media, digital media, and social media. In particular, it analyzes changes in the forms of information transmission, communication models, the role of the audience, and technological factors at each stage. The article substantiates that one-way communication dominated during the era of traditional media, while in the electronic media stage the speed and scope of information dissemination significantly expanded. It also explains that, as a result of the development of internet technologies in the digital media era, the communication process became interactive and global, whereas in the social media stage user participation intensified. In addition, the article considers modern media trends, including artificial intelligence, multimedia content, and personalized information flow. The results of the study show that the development of the media system is closely connected with technological progress, social needs, and transformations in forms of communication. This article has significant scholarly value in understanding the patterns of media’s evolutionary development, analyzing its current state, and identifying its future development prospects.
