The article examines psychologism as one of the defining features of Leo Tolstoy’s artistic method. It analyzes the main techniques used to portray the inner world of characters, including internal monologue, psychological detail, and authorial commentary. Special attention is paid to the connection between psychologism and the writer’s moral and philosophical inquiries, as well as to his view of personality as a dynamic and spiritually evolving phenomenon. The study concludes that psychologism in Tolstoy’s works functions not only as a literary device but also as a means of philosophical reflection on human existence.
