This article examines the phraseological units in the prose of Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev from the perspective of their expressive-stylistic differentiation. It analyzes the distribution of stable word combinations across interstylistic, colloquial-everyday, and literary domains and identifies the features of their functioning both in the author’s narrative and in the speech of the characters. The study concludes that Turgenev’s phraseological system reflects the historical development of the Russian literary language and serves as an important means of artistic characterization.
