This article examines the theoretical and practical features of using the Grammar-Translation Method in teaching English as a foreign language. The study explores the historical background of the method, its core principles, and its relevance within modern foreign language teaching methodology. The Grammar-Translation Method is discussed as an approach that promotes logical thinking, strengthens grammatical accuracy, and enhances learners’ understanding of language structure through systematic analysis and translation practice. At the same time, the article critically addresses the limitations of this method in developing communicative competence and oral fluency. A comparative analysis is conducted between the Grammar-Translation Method and contemporary approaches such as Communicative Language Teaching and Task-Based Learning. The findings suggest that although the method is not sufficient as a standalone approach, it can be effectively integrated into traditional and blended learning contexts when applied selectively and purposefully.
