Annotatsiya

This study presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of rhetorical strategies and linguistic patterns in Uzbek and English scientific discourse, examining how cultural values shape academic communication practices. Drawing on Swales' CARS model and Hyland's metadiscourse framework, the analysis reveals fundamental differences in how both languages construct and present scientific knowledge. While English academic discourse has evolved toward competitive dialogue characterized by promotional rhetoric, strategic positioning, and interactive persuasion, Uzbek scientific discourse maintains demonstrative exposition through systematic organization, comprehensive proof requirements, and guided structural development. These findings have significant implications for academic translation, international collaboration, and pedagogical approaches in multilingual academic contexts, suggesting that effective cross-cultural scientific communication requires not merely linguistic competence but deep understanding of culturally-embedded rhetorical expectations.
