Annotatsiya

The article examines the pragmatic functions of tourist vocabulary in the context of cross-cultural communication. Special attention is paid to the ways in which tourism-related lexical units convey implicit meanings, persuasive intentions, and culturally conditioned communicative strategies. The study analyzes the role of pragmatic markers, evaluative expressions, and culture-specific concepts in shaping tourists’ perceptions and influencing their communicative behavior. Drawing on authentic tourism discourse, such as promotional texts, guidebooks, and online travel platforms, the research demonstrates that tourist vocabulary functions not only as a nominative tool but also as a pragmatic mechanism aimed at persuasion, emotional engagement, and intercultural adaptation. The findings highlight the importance of pragmatic competence in tourism communication to ensure effective interaction between representatives of different cultures.
