This article examines the relationship between the figurative device of litotes and related phenomena. References to scholarly works are provided and commentary is provided. It is proven that litotes, often found in oral speech, is also found in proverbs. It is argued that this phenomenon is related to hyperbole, meiosis, and antenatiosis. It is also determined that litotes has a euphemistic, metaphorical, and synecdochic nature. The study, based on the opinions of scholars, described the boundaries of these phenomena, identifying their general and specific aspects. Descriptive, classificatory, comparative, and contrastive methods were used in the study. Scientific sources were consulted. The subject of the study is proverbs, and the task is to examine the relationship between litotes and related phenomena based on the proverbs in which they appear. The scientific conclusions are consistent with the results obtained and are presented in the table. Since the role of litotes in proverbs has not been studied in a monographic context, the article is of current importance.
