This article provides a comparative analysis of the legal regulation of additional punishments in the criminal legislation of foreign countries. The study examines the historical origins and evolution of the institution of additional punishments, with particular attention paid to its development in the French Criminal Code of 1810 and its subsequent influence on modern legal systems. The research analyzes different approaches to the classification, content, and application of additional punishments in various jurisdictions, including European and non-European states. Special emphasis is placed on the legal nature of additional punishments such as deprivation of rights, fines, confiscation of property, and restrictions on professional activity. The article also highlights the similarities and differences between foreign legal systems and the criminal legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and proposes recommendations for improving national legislation based on comparative legal experience.
