This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the current state of legal regulation and protection of intellectual property rights in the Republic of Uzbekistan. It examines the stages of development of national legislation, state policy, and strategic documents in this field, as well as the process of harmonizing domestic legislation with international legal standards, particularly the requirements of the TRIPS Agreement and international treaties administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The study analyzes current institutional and law enforcement challenges in the protection of intellectual property rights, as well as new legal relations emerging from the rapid development of the digital economy and artificial intelligence technologies and issues related to their legal regulation. Furthermore, the article presents a comparative legal analysis of the scholarly views of national and foreign researchers, together with foreign judicial practice, including decisions of U.S. courts in Thaler v. Perlmutter and Enfish, LLC v. Microsoft Corp. Based on the findings, scientifically grounded proposals and recommendations are developed to address existing challenges. The study concludes that the effective protection of intellectual property rights in Uzbekistan requires not only further improvement of the national legal framework in accordance with international standards, but also the strengthening of the institutional and practical capacity of law enforcement bodies, as well as the establishment of a specialized legal framework for regulating new legal relations arising from the development of artificial intelligence technologies.
