Analysis of phraseological units with anthroponymic components in conceptual integration theory

Annotatsiya

A phraseological unit is a unit of language composed of two or more word components, often with the characteristic of metaphorical representation of a particular reality and metaphorical application to the human being and to the world phenomena, including in English a piece of cake, Cordelia's gift, on the ball, as well as in Uzbek egri yoʻl, Amir Temurdan qolgan, koʻngli chopmadi. In the system of phraseological units of English and Uzbek, anthroponyms, that is, the use of a person’s proper name, is metaphorical from a cognitive point of view, and the features inherent in these anthroponyms figuratively describe people and reality on the basis of analogy, similarity. In this article, the metaphorical nature of anthroponyms involved as onomastic components in phraseological units of English and Uzbek languages is discussed and reacted in terms of the cognitive mechanism of conceptual integration.
