This article explores the linguocultural characteristics of the emotional concepts “joy” and “sorrow” in English and Uzbek. It analyzes how cross-linguistic and cross-cultural distinctions affect the lexical-semantic representation of these emotions. The study examines the influence of national culture, values, and psychological factors on language structure and conceptualization. Positioned at the intersection of linguistics and cultural studies, the research highlights the interrelation between universal and culture-specific emotional concepts.
