The language of every nation reflects its culture, customs, and way of life. In linguistics, the study of gastronomic phraseological units plays a crucial role in revealing the national mindset and cultural heritage of a people. This article analyzes gastronomic phraseologisms in French and Uzbek languages, examining their semantic, cultural, and linguistic features. The semantic domains of expressions in both languages, their contexts of use, and their place in the collective consciousness are compared, identifying commonalities and differences. The article also highlights the role of gastronomic phraseology in intercultural communication and addresses the challenges in the translation process. Additionally, the origins of some phraseological units are explored from historical and etymological perspectives. The research findings enable a deeper understanding of the connections between the cultures of the two peoples through the study of gastronomic phraseologisms.
