This article analyzes the legal framework and practical application of pre-trial, or out-of-court, mechanisms for resolving labor disputes in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Based on the provisions of the new Labor Code, which entered into force on April 30, 2023, the article examines the role of institutions such as the labor disputes commission (LDC), negotiation, mediation, and conciliation procedures for collective disputes. The study identifies problems related to the voluntary nature of the pre-trial procedure, the actual failure to establish LDCs at enterprises, and the tendency of employees to apply directly to the courts. Drawing on foreign experience and the standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the author formulates proposals for improving national legislation.
