The article analyzes outward investments as an object of international and national legal regulation. It examines doctrinal approaches, features of foreign regulatory frameworks, and the practice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Special attention is paid to the legal protection of national investors, gaps in legislation, and the formation of a balanced legal regime. The scientific novelty lies in developing criteria to distinguish between inbound and outbound investments; the practical significance lies in providing recommendations for improving legislation and supporting national investors.
