The functions of units representing space in the languages of the world are actively studied within the framework of such modern areas as pragmalinguistics, cognitive linguistics and communicative linguistics. A systematic study of the features of the expression of units representing space in the French and Uzbek languages, as well as the development of principles for their semantic classification, suggests the need for disclosure based on a new approach. This article highlights the importance of spatial parameters when studying spatial relationships.
