Improving the quality of education in schools is directly related to the effective organization of the school principal’s activities. This article notes the managerial competence of a leader and measures for its development. The theoretical foundations of the gender approach in education management in Uzbekistan and its prospects are also analyzed. The gender approach aims to ensure equality between men and women in society, and this approach is of great importance in educational management. The article examines the content of the gender approach, feminist theory and the relationship between gender equality and sustainable development. The current situation in Uzbekistan, ongoing reforms and prospects for the future are also analyzed. The need to implement a number of measures to ensure gender equality in education management is emphasized and it is shown that through these measures it is possible to increase the efficiency of the education system and ensure social justice in society.
