This article examines the processes of institutional development of public control, its legal foundations, and practical mechanisms. Special attention is paid to the issues of increasing the effectiveness of public control in ensuring the openness and transparency of state bodies’ activities. Within the framework of scientific analysis, national and international experiences are studied, and practical proposals and recommendations for improving public control are developed.
