The World Trade Organization (WTO) is one of the main institutions of international economic law, the legal nature of which was largely formed within the framework of international public law. The WTO, as an international organization regulating interstate trade relations, defines the legal obligations of sovereign states and develops the rules of international trade. At the same time, WTO rules directly or indirectly affect subjects of private law, which demonstrates its inextricable connection with international private law. This article analyzes the role of the WTO within the framework of international public law, its impact on legal relations between states and the degree of connection of WTO rules with international private law. The article is aimed at a more in-depth study of the legal nature of the WTO and an analysis of its place in the world trading system.
