This article examines the clinical, psychological, and special education aspects of motor coordination disorders in students with intellectual disabilities. The neurophysiological foundations of motor coordination are discussed within the framework of N. A. Bernstein’s theory of the hierarchical organization of movement. Particular attention is paid to impairments in static and dynamic balance, rhythm, spatial orientation, movement accuracy, and the ability to switch between motor actions. The article also identifies relevant diagnostic indicators and outlines the theoretical principles of corrective educational interventions aimed at improving motor coordination.
