This article examines the organizational, legal and practical aspects of using modern technologies for the protection and security of the state border of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It analyzes the role of biometric identification, automated border control, electronic document verification, information and communication technologies, geographic information systems, satellite monitoring, remote sensing, digital databases and risk-management systems. The legal mechanisms of border security are examined on the basis of the 2023 Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the State Border of the Republic of Uzbekistan” and Resolution No. 700 of the Cabinet of Ministers adopted in 2024. International standards and practices developed by ICAO, INTERPOL, IOM, UNODC and WCO are also analyzed in order to assess the possibilities of integrating modern technologies into border-control systems. The study demonstrates that technological modernization of border security should not be limited to the introduction of technical equipment. It must be accompanied by personal-data protection, respect for human rights, interagency information exchange, cybersecurity and effective legal liability mechanisms.
