The article examines the problems of securing the procedural rights of minors who take part in criminal proceedings as victims and witnesses at the pre-trial and trial stages. Although the Criminal Procedure Code contains child-sensitive safeguards, they are scattered and do not form a single procedural regime; an asymmetry is identified whereby the participation of a teacher or psychologist is guaranteed to a minor accused but remains optional for a minor victim. The author substantiates proposals for a single video-recorded interview, giving testimony outside the courtroom, assessing the child's own view on reconciliation independently of the legal representative's position, and enshrining the special rights of a minor victim in a separate article of the Code.
