This article examines the civil law foundations of remote notarial acts in the context of the digitalization of notarial services in the Republic of Uzbekistan. It analyzes key legislative and regulatory instruments, including the Law “On Notariate”, the laws “On Electronic Digital Signature” and “On Electronic Document Management”, as well as regulations governing the performance of notarial acts via videoconferencing through the E-notarius.uz portal and the “Notarius” Unified Automated Information System. Particular attention is paid to practical mechanisms for identity verification using Face-ID technology and for confirming the parties’ intent. The study identifies legal uncertainties concerning liability for risks associated with deepfake technologies and technical malfunctions during remote notarization. Based on the analysis, proposals are formulated to improve the legal framework governing remote notarial acts in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
