This article examines housing provision for resettled populations and the construction of new workers’ settlements in the Uzbek SSR during the 1950s–1960s. Drawing on examples from the Andijan, Khorezm, and Surkhandarya regions, the study highlights the implementation of state housing construction plans, funding shortages, coordination problems among construction organizations, and delays in the development of utility and engineering infrastructure. Based on archival documents, the article also explores the housing and living conditions of resettled families, the challenges they faced in adapting to new areas, and the difficulties encountered in implementing state housing policy.
