This article examines procedures for receiving and assessing notices of alleged trademark infringement in product listings on digital platforms and considers safeguards suitable for the Republic of Uzbekistan. The objective is to develop a legislative proposal that enables trademark owners to report potentially infringing listings while protecting sellers from unsupported restrictions. The study applies doctrinal and comparative legal methods to Uzbekistan’s trademark and electronic commerce legislation and the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA). It compares the information required in a notice, the platform’s initial assessment, the communication of reasons and the review of decisions. The analysis identifies a gap in the Uzbek provisions examined: they protect trademark rights and regulate electronic commerce operators, but do not prescribe a unified platform procedure for handling trademark notices. It proposes five stages: submission of a specific notice; initial assessment; a recorded and proportionate decision; notification with reasons; and review on the basis of further evidence. The proposed procedure distinguishes an allegation from a legal finding of infringement and accounts for the lawful resale of goods. A defined notice-and-action procedure may improve the transparency and consistency of platform decisions if it includes safeguards against mistaken or abusive complaints. The model is a legislative recommendation, not an existing unified procedure in Uzbekistan. Its effectiveness requires empirical assessment after implementation.
