Annotatsiya

This paper looks at China’s security policy in Central Asia within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). It also briefly discusses how this policy has changed in recent years. While earlier the main focus was on fighting terrorism and extremism, now more attention is given to protecting economic projects and cybersecurity. The role of Uzbekistan in the SCO and its importance for China is also mentioned. Overall, the SCO is still an important platform for cooperation, but its real mechanisms do not always work effectively. It also highlights some limitations in the practical implementation of SCO mechanisms in the region.
