Annotatsiya

The article explores the methodological aspects of visual documents as historical sources and provides a comparative analysis of these materials in relation to traditional written sources. Particular attention is given to the potential of photographic and film materials for reconstructing historical realities, social and cultural processes, and the urban environment of Samarkand. The findings provide a new perspective on the role and significance of photographic documentary sources in reconstructing the history of Samarkand and, more broadly, the history and cultural heritage of Central Asia.
