Annotatsiya

This article examines the economic, institutional, and social mechanisms shaping migration from China to Central Asia. Drawing on the aspirations–capabilities framework and the concept of migration infrastructure, the study analyzes official statistics and project-related information. The proposed analytical framework links structural conditions, organizational mediation, legal status, and individual decision-making. The study explains why economic indicators cannot be directly equated with migrant numbers and proposes measures to harmonize statistical measurement practices, monitor employment, and protect labor rights.
