Annotatsiya

This article analyzes the linguistic foundations of the current theories of compound sentences in English. The structural and semantic features of compound sentences, their role in text formation and communicative functions are covered based on the scientific views of representatives of modern English linguistics. The syntactic nature of coordinative and subordinative connections, the functional capabilities of connectives and connecting means are also scientifically evaluated. As a result of the study, it is substantiated that the compound sentence is not only a grammatical unit, but also an important communicative tool that ensures the semantic integrity of the text.
