This article analyzes theoretical and practical issues related to the legal regulation of investments in artificial intelligence technologies in the context of the digital economy. It argues that the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence technologies across various sectors of the economy is fundamentally transforming the nature and direction of investment relations. The current investment legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, particularly Article 5 of the Law “On Investments and Investment Activity,” is analyzed, and the need to recognize technological investments, including investments directed toward artificial intelligence systems, as a separate category of investment is substantiated. A comparative analysis of the experience of foreign countries and the approaches adopted by the OECD, UNCTAD, and the World Bank is conducted, on the basis of which the author formulates proposals for improving national legislation.
