Annotatsiya

This article analyzes the protection of investor rights in Islamic finance under the existing legal framework of Uzbekistan. The institutions of Islamic banking, Islamic financial transactions, and investment deposits introduced by Law No. ZRU-1126 of 27 March 2026 are assessed from the perspective of investor protection. The legal status of investment deposit holders, partnership participants, clients in deferred-payment sales, holders of Islamic securities (sukuk), and takaful participants is examined separately, while the mechanisms applicable to each category and the identified legal gaps are systematized in tabular form. The experience of Malaysia, Bahrain, Indonesia, Türkiye, and Kazakhstan is comparatively analyzed. Based on the findings, the article formulates specific proposals for improving legislation in the areas of deposit guarantees, sukuk issuance, Shariah non-compliance risk, and dispute resolution.
