Rheumatoid arthritis is the most common immune-inflammatory (autoimmune) rheumatic disease characterized by chronic erosive joint involvement and systemic involvement of internal organs. An important role in the diagnosis of RA is played by the identification of specific biomarkers, which include IgM of the rheumatoid factor, antibodies to the cyclic citrullinated peptide, and antibodies to the modified citrullinated vitamin. Rheumatoid factor and ARCP are included in the classification criteria of the American College of Rheumatologists and the European Alliance of Rheumatological Associations (ACR/EULAR, 2010), based on which seropositive and seronegative variants of the disease are distinguished. In recent years, a significant amount of data has been accumulated on new highly sensitive and specific laboratory markers of rheumatoid arthritis. Among the most promising at the present stage are antibodies to carbamyl proteins (anti-CarP).
