This article examines the integration of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools into a blended learning environment built on the principles of task-based language teaching (TBLT), situated within the context of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). The relevance of the topic lies in the fact that most existing research on GAI has focused on general language skills, while learners' acquisition of discipline-specific discourse remains comparatively underexplored. Drawing on a systematic review of the scholarly literature, a four-stage conceptual model was developed - the GAI-Based Task-Driven Discourse Development Model (GAI-TDDM). The model links the phases of TBLT to specific pedagogical functions of GAI and proposes tracking discourse development through genre moves, lexical density, terminological accuracy, and pragmatic appropriateness. The scientific novelty of the study lies in bringing GAI, TBLT, and blended learning together within a single model directly oriented toward the development of discipline-specific discourse.
