This article looks at audiovisual translation (AVT) and the linguistic and cultural differences it involves, using examples from the film Home Alone (1990) and its Uzbek version. In today’s world of global communication, AVT has become especially important. Films watched by both children and adults often include many cultural references, and these do not always transfer directly into another language. Because of this, translators often need to adapt these elements so they sound natural for a different audience with a different cultural background.In this study, I look at the main ideas of audiovisual translation and how language and culture are adapted in the Uzbek dubbing of the film. I also examine the strategies translators use to make the content clear.I pay special attention to dubbing and how it considers both the audience’s age and the film’s humor. Since Home Alone includes jokes for both children and adults, this makes translation more challenging.The analysis includes specific examples showing how cultural elements are changed or adjusted in the Uzbek version.
