This article examines the recurring character types and archetypal events that define William Shakespeare's dramatic canon. By systematically analyzing plays across comedies, tragedies, histories, and romances, the study identifies patterns of characterization and plot construction that form the structural backbone of Shakespearean drama. The research draws on close reading, comparative analysis, and reception theory to argue that Shakespeare’s enduring universality rests not only on poetic genius but on the deliberate deployment of recognizable human archetypes - the ambitious usurper, the tragic lover and the working of fate.
