Optical and magneto-optical properties of the Tb³⁺ ion in a fluoride crystal with a fluorite structure

Annotatsiya

The magnetic circular polarization of luminescence (MCPL) spectra of Na0,375Tb0,625F2,25 wereinvestigated in the visible spectral region. An intense luminescence band located in the wavelength range of 535–560 nm, attributed to 4f→4f intraconfigurational transitions between 5D4→7F5, was identified. Radiative 4f→4f transitions within the 5D4→7F5 and 5D4→7F4 luminescence bands were identified, and the dominance of magnetic dipole transitions in the secondary emission spectra was established. Analysis of the magneto-optical data revealed thatthe C-term of magneto-optical activity plays a significant role in the mechanism of magnetooptical effects within the luminescence bands associated with "forbidden" 4f→4f transitions.
