Strain effects on the linear and nonlinear optical properties of InP/InAsP/InP quantum well

This paper presents a theoretical studying the effects of strain and compositional variations onthe linear and nonlinear optical properties of InP/InAs1-xPx/InP quantum wells. The Schrödinger equation was solved to determine the energy levels and wave functions, and the dipolemoment matrix elements and absorption coefficients were calculated. The analysis revealedthat the electron transition energies, absorption spectra, and refractive index changes can be effectively tuned by varying the quantum well width and phosphorus composition. Nonlinearoptical effects are significantly enhanced under high-intensity light conditions. The obtainedresults are crucial for the design and optimization of modern optoelectronic devices operatingin the infrared range.
