Annotatsiya

Glioblastoma is the most aggressive form of primary brain tumors and is accompanied by pronounced alterations in the immune microenvironment. In the present study, the serum cytokine profile was analyzed in 18 women with newly diagnosed glioblastoma. The amount of IL-10, IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, and IFN-γ were measured by using the ELISA method. The results showed a significant increase in both pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines, reflecting the characteristic immune response imbalance observed in glioblastoma. This cytokine profile confirms the role of chronic inflammation and immunosuppression in the tumor’s pathogenesis and may be considered a promising target for the development of immunomodulatory therapeutic strategies.
