Matrix elements of three- and four-photon optical transitions occurring between the subbandsof the valence band of semiconductor of cubic symmetry are calculated. In this case, the contribution of the simultaneous three-photon interaction to the total matrix element of three- and four-photon optical transitions is taken into account, and it is shown that this contribution depends on both the sign and the numerical value of the parameter of the term cubic in the hole wave vector in the effective hamiltonian.
