Подход Ферми к размерному эффекту генерации множественных экситонов в наноструктурах

The effect of multiple exciton generation in low dimensional nanostructures by a single photon presents a possible route to improved photovoltaic conversion efficiency. In this work, the Fermi`s statistical theory of the generation of strongly correlated particles is used to explain the dimensional effect of the generation of multiple excitons in PbSe nanorods versus quantum dots. The statistical approach taking into account the difference in threshold photon energies for carrier multiplication of nanorods versus quantum dots gives a good agreement with the experimental values of quantum efficiencies.
