The problem of surgical diseses of an infectios nature was one of the most acute problems in surgery at all stages of its development. New approaches to the diagnosis of the etiopathogenesis jf surgical infections and their treatment, predicting damage to varios organs have appeared. The emergence of immunobiological approaches to solving the problem of surgical, in our opinion, emphasized the need for a more in-depth study of microbiological factors in the 21th centuty. In recent years, the participation of bacteria, fungi, protozoa and helminths in the development of infectios diseases has increased.Wound infection occupies one of the leading positions in the overall structure of surgical diseases and is observed in 35–45% of surgical patients. Worldwide, almost 2.5 million patients are diagnosed with soft tissue lesions of various etiologies, approximately 20% of which are associated with diabetes mellitus. Therefore, diabetes mellitus has become an important social problem.
