Introduction. Obesity is a major risk factor for adverse postoperative outcomes in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery. Despite the advantages of minimally invasive techniques, obese patients remain at increased risk of respiratory, functional, and thromboembolic complications. Aim. To evaluate the effectiveness of a structured postoperative medical rehabilitation algorithm in obese patients after laparoscopic surgery compared with standard postoperative care. Materials and Methods. A prospective comparative study included 136 obese patients who underwent elective laparoscopic procedures. The main group (n = 72) received a comprehensive rehabilitation program, while the control group (n = 64) received standard postoperative care. Clinical and functional parameters, physical performance, C-reactive protein levels, and postoperative complications were assessed. Results. The rehabilitation algorithm resulted in faster recovery of respiratory function and physical activity, improved exercise tolerance, and earlier reduction of inflammatory markers. The rate of postoperative complications was significantly lower in the main group compared with the control group. Conclusion. The proposed medical rehabilitation algorithm for obese patients after laparoscopic surgery is clinically effective and safe, promoting functional recovery and reducing postoperative complications, which supports its implementation in routine surgical practice.
