Pulmonary echinococcosis remains an important clinical and social problem in endemic regions. This study presents a comparative analysis of 114 patients treated for pulmonary echinococcosis: 55 cases of traditional broad thoracotomy and 59 cases of videothoracoscopic surgery. The assessed outcomes included intraoperative parameters, postoperative pain, complications, hospital stay duration, and disease recurrence. The results showed that videothoracoscopic surgery is characterized by significantly fewer complications, less pain, and faster recovery. These conclusions confirm that the widespread introduction of minimally invasive methods improves the results of surgical treatment of pulmonary echinococcosis.
