Selecting chickpea varieties suitable for the specific soil and climatic conditions of the republic and optimizing their cultivation technology remains a pressing task. In this study, conducted at the Bakhmal scientific-experimental station, the effects of sowing dates (April 1–10 and April 11–20) and seeding rates (185, 222, and 278 thousand viable seeds/ha) on the phenological phases of the chickpea variety “Zabardast” were systematically investigated. The results revealed that increasing the seeding rate from 185 to 278 thousand seeds/ha accelerated plant development due to higher crop density; the vegetative period from germination to flowering shortened from 54 to 50 days in the first sowing date, and from 52 to 46 days in the second date. It is concluded that later sowing dates and higher plant density intensify competition for soil moisture, thereby accelerating the formation of reproductive organs and shortening the overall growing season.
