Annotatsiya

The cultivation of research competence is an essential component of teacher education, as it prepares pre-service teachers to investigate, assess, and enhance pedagogical processes. Although earlier research has highlighted the importance of methodological training and the application of digital tools, the significance of reflective practice in enhancing research competence has not been as thoroughly explored in academic literature. This article examines the ways in which reflective practice, utilizing self-assessment, peer feedback, guided mentorship, and digital reflection tools, can improve the research skills of pre-service teachers. The article utilizes classical theories of reflection alongside recent empirical studies to illustrate that reflection enhances critical thinking, improves academic writing, and fosters a deeper understanding of methodology. Moreover, it contends that incorporating reflective practice into coursework and practicum activities enhances teacher identity development and fosters lifelong learning habits. The study concludes that reflective practice must be acknowledged as an essential pedagogical strategy in the development of research competence and advocates for empirical studies to further explore its impact across various cultural and institutional contexts.
